MoneyCompass is a personal finance tool that lets you import bank transactions, categorize spending, view statistics/budgets, and track portfolio/holdings.

• Account data: email address and password hash (we never store your plain password).
• Finance data you provide or import: transactions, categories, budget caps, accounts (MoneySource), goals, portfolio/holdings.
• Technical data: session cookies and basic server logs (for security, stability, and troubleshooting).
• Optional analytics data: if you allow analytics cookies, Google Analytics may process pseudonymous information about how you use the website, such as pages viewed and device/browser information.
• Optional marketing measurement data: only if you choose “Allow both”, Meta Pixel may record a page view and account-registration event so we can measure Facebook and Instagram campaign performance.
• Campaign attribution: if you arrive through a tagged link, we store the first-visit UTM source, medium, campaign and landing page. These fields are linked to an account only if you register.

MoneyCompass does not log in to your bank. Transactions are imported from files you upload (CSV/Excel).

Uploaded bank statement files are not stored after import. The file is parsed and transactions are saved to the database. We may store minimal import metadata (e.g., filename and import statistics).

If you use AI categorization or AI reports, some transaction details may be sent to a third-party AI provider (for example, OpenAI) in order to generate suggestions or insights.

• This may include fields such as merchant/payee, description/notes, amount, direction (in/out), and other relevant context.
• AI output is advisory — the user remains in control of final decisions.

If you do not want transaction data to be used for AI purposes, do not use the AI features.

• We do not sell your data.
• Data may be processed by infrastructure providers (hosting, email) only as needed to operate the service.
• If you allow marketing measurement, limited website-use and conversion data may be processed by Meta Platforms Ireland Limited according to your cookie choice.
• If you use AI features, relevant data may be shared with an AI provider (e.g., OpenAI) only to deliver that functionality.
• We may disclose data to authorities only when required by law.

• Traffic is encrypted using HTTPS.
• Data is account-scoped — other users cannot access your transactions.
• Backups and logs are used for incident response and troubleshooting.

You can initiate account deletion inside the app (profile/settings).

• Deletion is executed after 24 hours.
• You can cancel the deletion request during this period.

Note: data may remain in backups for a limited time according to backup retention policies.
